Keratoconus is a condition in which the cornea bulges outward like a cone. This can cause progressive deterioration of vison due to progressive astigmatism Intacs are intrastromal corneal ring segments system(ICRS) which are meant to be inserted into corneal stroma with specific tools. This is a latest surgical treatment for keratoconus. When these are inserted into the eye, intacs reshape the cornea by flattening it closer to its original dome shape within a year time.
